2014-2024 Hot Yoga Hilo
2025 brings new era of business

Our studio’s roots date back to 2014

Founded as Hot Yoga Hilo, featuring heated Bikram Yoga classes. 2025 brings a new era of business as we transform into Yoga Oasis Hawai’i.

The name carries deep meaning: Yoga Oasis was once a beloved studio on the Big Island where co-owner Eugene practiced for many years. In 2018, it was covered in lava by the Fissure 8 eruption flows– but its spirit lives on. In a heartfelt passing of tradition, our studio owners, Frances and Eugene, were honored to receive the Yoga Oasis name as a gift from its previous owners, Star and Carl, carrying its legacy onward.

Our space stands out from most modern, fitness-focused yoga studios, which gloss over the heart of yoga as a complete 8-limb path of wellness. Beyond our wide variety of class offerings, you’ll find a welcoming sangha – a community to support you throughout your yoga journey.

At Yoga Oasis Hawai’i, there is something for everyone. Whether sweating through a Bikram class or using vigorous breath kriyas in traditional sequences, you’ll find space to heal, grow, and become fully aligned with the present moment.

We envision our studio as a sanctuary of peace, balance, and connection – where you can tap into your highest self and share in the collective energy of our wonderful community.

Come as you are – everyone is welcome.

Aloha, Meet Eugene and Frances: Yoga Oasis Hawai’i Owners

Frances, born and raised in Kona, was introduced to Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga in 1997. Over the years, her practice became her sanctuary—an ever-renewing source of energy, clarity, and joy.

She attended yoga teacher training in 2008, and that choice shaped the path of her life. Frances began teaching at Hot Yoga Hilo when it first opened in 2014 and purchased it in 2019. Today, she continues to pour her heart into Yoga Oasis Hawai‘i as a sanctuary for radiant health, authentic connection, and the shared joy of practice—whether it’s the lightness that follows a good sweat or the quiet healing that comes from moving what’s been stuck for years.

For Frances, yoga is both medicine and celebration: an act of self-love that remedies and awakens the power within.

Eugene’s yoga journey began in 1998, when he saw his friend’s mom practicing sun salutations and she invited him to join—something in the practice instantly resonated. A year later, inspired by The Sivananda Companion to Yoga, he began exploring pranayama on his own, discovering the profound stillness and expanded awareness that came through kapalabhati and deep breath retention—sometimes entering altered states of consciousness.

His path eventually led him to The Yoga Oasis Retreat Center on the Big Island, where he lived and was invited to teach. A lifelong learner who has traveled the world to deepen his practice, Eugene blends diverse movement styles while honoring yoga’s energetic and spiritual roots. His teaching is intuitive and immersive—guided by the collective energy of the room and dedicated to awakening not only the body, but the whole being

Frances and Eugene met at Hot Yoga Hilo, sparking both a personal and professional connection.

Now partners in life and business – co-owning the studio since 2023 – they have created a space where transformation ripples outward. Their shared vision meshes diverse movement styles and traditional practices that inspire others to heal, grow, and redefine what yoga means in their lives.
